Rent Car Kissamos

It’s worth renting a car to visit Kissamos, Crete, the biggest small town west of Chania city. Kissamos lies on the north coast of Chania region, about 40 kilometers from Chania city, and you can get there easily through the wide national road.

Kissamos still retains the name of the ancient city that was built in the same location many centuries ago. It is renowned for its agricultural products and its characteristic Cretan village feeling, and you will have no problem parking your hired car in a convenient place, as there are ample parking spaces around the town.

Rent a car to Kissamos, Crete: Enjoy the magnificent bay of Kissamos.

The location of Kissamos is absolutely stunning: It is on the most central spot of a large bay formed by two long peninsulas, Rodopou to the east and Gramvousa to the west, which dominate the landscape on the northwest edge of Crete Island.

These two peninsulas are full of wild natural beauty, as they are mostly uninhabited. In the northwest part of the Gramvousa peninsula lies the famous beach of Balos, a tropical, extremely scenic beach (which you most possibly have already seen in Crete travel guides), where unfortunately you cannot get with your rented car, as the road is unpaved and rough, but where you can easily get by boat from the port of Kissamos.

The beach of Kissamos itself is splendid, organized and with crystal-clear water. The breathtaking view of Kissamos bay will accompany you every moment you lazily swim or sunbathe on the beach.

In a small distance from the center of the town, and to the west, before reaching the port, you will find the Kissamos fish harbour – you can easily get there with your hired car – where you can find a couple of taverns with excellent fresh seafood.

When you rent your car at Mars Car Rental, the whole panorama of the  Cretan countryside is at your disposal to explore, all full of local color. And Kissamos is one of the most characteristic places of the countryside to experience.
